Lung cancer is the leading cancer killer in the United States, yet it is one of
the most preventable cancers.
Researchers have discovered several causes of lung cancer, most of which are related
to the use of tobacco products including cigarettes, cigars, pipes and even exposure
to second-hand tobacco smoke. Other known causes of lung cancer include radon gas
and asbestos. Certain lung diseases such as tuberculosis (TB) also increase a
person's chance of developing lung cancer.

Knowing the risk factors of lung cancer and living a healthy lifestyle play an important
role in the prevention of lung cancer.
