The Forsyth Regional Cancer Center's tumor registry collects, manages and analyzes data on all patients who are diagnosed or treated for cancer at Forsyth Regional Cancer Center according to the standards set by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons.
This data is collected through the patient's physician and is confidentially reported to the North Carolina Cancer Registry as required by law. Lifetime follow-up is maintained on each patient, and the information collected benefits cancer patients by providing statistical data to physicians and other healthcare professionals for education and research. Each year the Cancer Center creates an annual report of the previous years data.
