Stroke and Other Brain Injury
Nationally Accredited Stroke Specialty Program
| In 2007, Forsyth Rehabilitation Center received a three-year accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for our Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital Stroke Specialty Program. |
This CARF accreditation means that we are dedicated to delivering remarkable rehabilitation services to our patients. Our goal is to optimize our patients' functional abilities, improving their quality of life and promoting health in our communities, one person at a time.
Our Stroke Specialty Program utilizes the combined efforts of an interdisciplinary stroke team including physical, occupational, speech and recreational therapists, psychologists, specially trained nurses and physicians. Together, we help patients regain the highest level of independence as possible following a stroke.
CARF Accreditation means that we:
- Met rigorous international standards of patient satisfaction and care
- Are focused on helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals
- Constantly work to improve services and stay on the cutting edge of rehab techniques and technology
- Surpass communication expectations with referring physicians and insurance companies
Our Stroke Specialty Program offers intensive therapies to:
- Advance independent thinking and problem-solving skills
- Regain functional use of arms and legs with everyday tasks
- Increase mobility and balance
- Regain swallowing ability
- Improve speech
