Injury Management, Prevention and Cost Containment Program (IMPACC)
The IMPACC program has been implemented across the United States since 1981, and has proven outcomes showing reduced lost workdays in client workplaces.
Many companies are concerned with what they are spending for worker's compensation claims. The average cost of a back or neck injury worker's compensation claim can be thousands of dollars.
IMPACC employs only physical and occupational therapists. These therapists are medical professionals specializing in human biomechanics and musculoskeletal work, injury and disease. They are highly trained in the physics of movement and posture as it relates to work. They are medical ergonomic specialists.
IMPACC Therapists go beyond design engineering to include strategies that:
  • Improve work tolerance
  • Teach fatigue avoidance
  • Focus on claims prevention
  • Decrease tissue damage
  • Increase repair of working tissue
Education and recommendations are designed to correct harmful worker and workplace habits. For instance, most back injuries are not caused by lifting-they are often caused by an accumulation of risk factors over time that make the back more vulnerable to injury.
Our INDUSTRIAL ATHLETE approach to employee training stresses self-protection and taking responsibility for the working body.
