| Forsyth Stroke & Neurovascular Center has a stroke navigator who will give you the support and knowledge you need to successfully navigate your way through the healthcare system. |
A stroke navigator is a member of your healthcare team who is here to help you understand more about your diagnosis, treatments, what will happen while you are a patient here and assist you on the road to recovery after discharge from the hospital. These services are free and may include:
- Help in communicating with your healthcare team including doctors, nurses, therapists, dieticians, case managers and other healthcare professionals
- Guidance and communication about your medical diagnosis and treatment options
- Help with identifying hospital-based and community resources for you and your family
- Assistance finding information to help you and your family better understand your diagnosis
- Offering emotional support
