About the Program
The Nurse Explorer program is ideal for students who have not experienced the clinical setting but plan to pursue an education in Nursing. You will gain essential experience and knowledge while performing the duties as CNA I. Participants will work with other members of the healthcare team in a designated area of the hospital for 6-8 weeks.
Eligibility
The Nurse Explorer Program is designed for students who are entering their first semester of a nursing program (usually between the Sophomore and Junior year of a 4-year program). Participants must have a valid CNA I license.
Scheduling
The program lasts approximately 6-8 weeks and usually begins in late May. The schedule and shift vary by unit. In some cases you may choose to continue employment after the Nurse Explorer Program is complete as a CNA I.

Official Transcript
Students may send an unofficial copy at the time of application. However, an official copy must be submitted after completion of your Spring semester and before you begin work.
Background check permission form
This form may be obtained and completed at our office at the time of your interview.
After you submit the online application, you will need to gather the other components of the application and send or hand-deliver them to the Employment Department office at the following address:

There is no application deadline, so we will continue to accept applications until the positions are filled. After submitting your online application, you should expect a phone call within 1-2 weeks about your areas of interest and interview scheduling. We attempt to accommodate interviews for all of our applicants.
