Forsyth receives women's heart education award

WINSTON-SALEM -- Forsyth Medical Center recently received a national award for educating women about their risks for heart disease through Forsyth's HeartAdvantage program. The Pacesetter Award was presented to ony 17 hospitals nationwide, recognizing Forsyth as a hospital offering clinical improvement programs that marry evidence-based education with evidence based clinical practices.
VHA, a national organization of 2,300 health care organizations and their affiliated physicians, presented the award to Forsyth Medical Center in Dallas recently.
Forsyth's Women's HeartAdvantage program focuses on increasing awareness that heart disease is the number one killer of women. The initiative also works to stimulate heart healthy behavior change among women and to improve clinical outcomes for women treated with heart disease.
