Forsyth Medical Center names Head Nurse for Emergency Department's Express Admission Unit

Forsyth Medical Center announced recently that Sharon Wingo, RN, has been named Head Nurse for the Emergency Departments new Express Admission Unit. In her new role, Wingo will be responsible for managing and streamlining the care of patients who have been admitted to the hospital through the Emergency Department. She will also play an important role in helping to move the unit into the hospitals new Emergency Department, which is currently under construction and scheduled to open in September.
Wingo has been with Forsyth for almost six years, most recently as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. Wingo is also one of six nurses at the hospital who have participated in weeks of intense training to become certified as Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners. They provide medical care and evidence collection for sexual assault and domestic violence victims as part of the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) program. The SANE program is a collaborative effort between Forsyth Medical Center, Family Services, the Forsyth County District Attorneys office and local law enforcement.
