Forsyth Medical Center recently announced the following new hires and promotions:
Mark Billings has joined Forsyth Medical Center as vice president of support services. Billings will lead several key areas of the hospital, including engineering, food and nutrition services, laboratory services, public safety, medical records and transcription, as well as the hospitals day care center and fitness center. Billings has 12 years of experience in healthcare administration, overseeing clinical operations, finance, marketing and human resources. He most recently served as the chief operating officer for the Naval Hospital at Camp Lejeune.
Marilyn Gilliam has been appointed director of employee relations for Forsyth Medical Center and its affiliates in the Triad, including Thomasville Medical Center and Medical Park Hospital. Gilliam has more than 25 years of experience in human resources management, employee recruitment, compensation and benefits, and employee relations. She most recently served as deputy director of human resources for the City of Winston-Salem.
Michele Grier has been promoted to director of strategic planning and development for Forsyth Medical Center and its affiliates in the Triad. Grier has been with Forsyth Medical Center for 15 years, most recently as a senior business planner supporting regional strategic development initiatives.
Joanne Sherman, RN, has been promoted to director of cardiovascular disease management and support services for Forsyth Medical Center. Sherman will lead the hospitals cardiovascular disease prevention and management programs. Sherman has been with Forsyth Medical Center since 1992, most recently as nurse manager for Preventive Cardiology where she developed the lipid management clinic, peripheral vascular disease rehabilitation and several innovative cardiovascular risk reduction programs.
