Novant Health Senior Vice President Elected President of NCHICA

Winston-Salem, December 5, 2005 - Robert H. Seehausen, Jr., Novant Health senior vice president of business development and sales has been elected President of the N.C. Healthcare Information & Communications Alliance (NCHICA) for the 2005-06 term.
Seehausen says his primary goals for the NCHICA during the next year include the implementation of an online medication communication and management program, forging stronger relationships with national lawmakers and statewide healthcare purchasers and expanding the organization's membership.
A graduate of Carleton College in Northfield, Minn., Seehausen also holds an MBA in Health Services Management, Finance and Management Policy from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. He has been at Novant Health since 1998 and was appointed to the N.C. Health Insurance Innovation Commission in 2005.
The North Carolina Healthcare Information and Communications Alliance, Inc. is a nonprofit consortium of over 230 organizations dedicated to improving healthcare by accelerating the adoption of information technology. It is located in Chapel Hill.
Novant Health is a not-for-profit healthcare system in western North Carolina, serving people in 32 counties reaching from southern Virginia to northern South Carolina. Novant and the majority of its facilities are 501(C) 3, private, community organizations.
