Director of Nursing for The Oaks at Forsyth Appointed to N.C. Center for Nursing Board of Directors

Winston-Salem, December 13 - Gwendolyn Stewart, director of nursing at The Oaks at Forsyth, Forsyth Medical Center's long-term care facility, has been appointed to a three-year term on the N.C. Center for Nursing Board of Directors. Stewart was appointed to serve as the Center's long-term care representative. Her term will expire June 30, 2008.
Founded in 1991 by the N.C. General Assembly, the N.C. Center for Nursing is a state agency established to ensure adequate nursing resources are available to meet the healthcare needs of North Carolina's citizens. The agency developed a strategic statewide plan for North Carolina's nursing industry and recommends systemic changes and strategies for change within the state's nursing community and creates, promotes and evaluates recognition, reward and renewal activities for nurses throughout North Carolina. It is located in Raleigh.
Forsyth Medical Center is one of seven hospitals that are part of Novant Health, a not-for-profit healthcare system based in North Carolina.
