Hammes named Executive Director of Forsyth Cardiac and Vascular Center at Forsyth Medical Center

WINSTON-SALEM, NC, October 12, 2006 Paul Hammes has been named executive director of the Forsyth Cardiac and Vascular Center at Forsyth Medical Center. In his new role, Hammes will be responsible for operations and strategic planning surrounding inpatient and outpatient cardiac services.
Hammes joined Forsyth Medical Center in 2003 as a senior business planner. Most recently, he was as executive director of imaging and neurosciences at Forsyth. Under his direction, Forsyth's Stroke and Neurovascular Center became the first nationally accredited primary stroke center in North Carolina. The center was recently re-accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
Hammes currently serves as president of the North Carolina Stroke Association and holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Georgia.
Prior to joining Forsyth, Hammes spent nearly five years in management with the Cintas Corporation, based in Cincinnati, Ohio. His healthcare career began in 1986 as a unit clerk at Saint Mary's Hospital in his hometown of Athens, Georgia.
