Cholesterol Testing

Cholesterol screening is performed by a blood test. Persons with high cholesterol measurements from a blood sample tend to have a higher risk for coronary heart disease than those with cholesterol in the normal range. Studies have demonstrated that persons with high cholesterol can reduce their risk for heart disease by lowering their cholesterol. It is important to understand, however, that people can still have heart disease even with cholesterol levels in the normal range.

Diabetes Self-Care Education

Programs designed for anyone living with diabetes, no matter when they were diagnosed. We help patients use the latest treatment tools and information to properly manage their care. The goal is to prevent or lessen the complications that people often experience with diabetes.

Diabetes Support Groups

There are support groups offered to help provide the support you need to live with diabetes.

Diabetes Treatment

Diabetes is a condition where the pancreas is unable to produce insulin or does not effectively use the insulin that is produced. Insulin is a hormone that removes glucose (blood sugar) from the blood and delivers it to the body's cells for fuel. Diabetes is a chronic disease for which there is no cure. Once someone has diabetes, the only treatment is ongoing management of the symptoms through meal planning, weight control, exercise, stress reduction and medication.

Nutrition Planning

Nutrition services offer an opportunity to receive expert advice from a dietitian. A diet analysis and consultation will benefit you whether you are looking to control weight loss or gain, implement a health eating pattern, or looking for a plan to assist in the prevention of disease.
