Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring

Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) is a method of taking regular blood pressure readings, usually over a 24-hour period, as patients conduct their normal activities. A special, automatic blood pressure monitor is used, and patients are asked to keep a diary or log of their activities during the day.

Bone Fracture/Sprain Management

Colposcopy

An examination of the vagina and cervix using a magnifying instrument called a colposcope or an endoscope, primarily to identify areas of cervical dysplasia in women with abnormal Pap smears.

Cryoablation (Cryosurgery)

Also called cryotherapy, cryosurgery or targeted cryoablation therapy, this is a minimally invasive treatment that uses extreme cold to freeze and destroy diseased tissue, including cancer cells. Liquid nitrogen or argon gas is applied to diseased cells located outside or inside the body. Physicians use image-guidance techniques such as ultrasound, computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance (MR) to help guide these freezing substances to treatment sites located inside the body.

Holter Monitoring

The Holter monitor is a portable device for continuously monitoring the electrical activity of the heart for 24 hours or more. Its extended recording period is sometimes useful for observing occasional cardiac arrhythmias that would be difficult to identify in a shorter period of time.

Injection Therapy

Injection therapy involves using a needle and syringe to relieve pain by injecting medication into a patient's joints, soft tissues or other areas. It typically is used only when less invasive forms of treatment fail to relieve symptoms.

IUD Insertions

An Intrauterine Device (IUD) is a method of birth control in which a small device is inserted into the uterus by a physician. It remains in place the entire time pregnancy is not desired. IUDs last 1-10 years, depending on the type, and then must be removed by a physician.
