At the Geriatric Behavioral Health Center, we offer individualized care in a warm, supportive atmosphere. The first thing our professional team will do is a thorough evaluation to help determine what's causing the behavioral and mental changes. Our staff will then work with the patient, family and other health professionals to develop a course of treatment that best meets the needs of the individual.

Alzheimer's Disease TreatmentAlzheimer's disease is a degenerative form of dementia. There is currently no cure for Alzheimer's disease, but treatments may offer some relief of symptoms. Angiogram (Heart Catheterization)Also called an "arteriogram" or "heart catheterization," an angiogram is an x-ray of the arteries and veins to detect blockage or narrowing of the vessels. Audiology ServicesIn addition to hearing tests (audiogram), audiology services can include tests such as Multi-Frequency Tympanometry, Middle Ear Muscle Reflexes, Otoacoustic Emission Testing, Amplification/Hearing aid evaluations and dispensing, and numerous other tests. Blood Sugar (Glucose) TestingTesting your blood sugar (glucose) involves putting a drop of blood on a test strip and then placing the strip into a meter that displays your glucose level. Blood Sugar (Glucose) TestingTesting your blood sugar (glucose) involves putting a drop of blood on a test strip and then placing the strip into a meter that displays your glucose level. Blood TransfusionThe process of transferring blood or blood-based products from one person into the circulatory system of another. Blood transfusions can be life-saving in some situations, such as massive blood loss due to trauma, or can be used to replace blood lost during surgery.
Breathing TestsTests conducted to evaluate your lung function by measuring air flow into and out of the lungs. Cognitive Disorders TreatmentTreatment of cognitive disorders, which are mental conditions that cause patients to have difficulty thinking. Although symptoms of these disorders vary, they are generally marked by impaired awareness, perception, reasoning, memory and judgment. Community Resource ReferralsReferrals are made as appropriate for other resources available in the community. Electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG)An electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) is one of the simplest and fastest procedures used to evaluate the heart. Electrodes (small, plastic patches) are placed at certain locations on the chest, arms and legs. When the electrodes are connected to an ECG machine by lead wires, the electrical activity of the heart is measured, interpreted and printed out for the physician's information and further interpretation. Electroencephalogram (EEG Testing)An electroencephalogram (EEG) is a test that measures and records the electrical activity of your brain by using sensors (electrodes) attached to your head.
Electromyography (EMG Testing)Electromyography (EMG) measures the response of muscles and nerves to electrical activity. It is used to help determine muscle conditions that might be causing muscle weakness, including muscular dystrophy and nerve disorders. Family CounselingFamily counseling is the treatment of emotional disorder of a family unit. It is based on the belief that the family is a unique social system with its own structure and patterns of communication. Any change in one member of the family affects both the family structure and each member individually. Functional Capacity EvaluationsFunctional Capacity Evaluations are performed to determine an individual's overall ability to perform physical work. The evaluation describes a person's maximum capacity in seven major areas including: dynamic strength, mobility, coordination, endurance, position tolerance, balance and fine motor. Geriatric CareAddresses the complex needs of older people, focusing on health promotion and the prevention and treatment of disease and disability in the elderly. Group CounselingTherapy technique which includes interaction among group members with a counselor or other leader.
Hypospadias TreatmentTreatment of hypospadias, a congenital malformation in which the urethra opens at the base or beneath the penis. Individual CounselingIndividual counseling facilitates the exploration and resolution of personal problems and issues according to the needs of the individual. Inpatient Behavioral Health ProgramFor inpatient behavioral health programs, the patient is admitted to the hospital. Psychiatric nurses, technicians and therapists make up each individual's care team, which provides both support and education to the client, as well as their families and/or support system. These professionals work with the individual's primary care physician, psychiatrist, psychologist and/or therapist, so that the maximum benefit from the inpatient stay is achieved. The goal is to ensure that the individual's transition back into the community is a smooth one. Intensive Outpatient Behavioral Health ProgramAn intensive outpatient program is just what the name implies--"a more intensive level of outpatient services." Therapists and other professionals manage this program and provide various group and individual therapies in a stable, safe environment. The individual learns coping skills by exploring his or her own environment outside of treatment.
Osteoporosis Treatment PlansOsteoporosis is a disease characterized by low bone mass and loss of bone tissue. Treatment of osteoporosis depends on the cause of your condition, the severity of bone loss, and the response to treatments. In general, treatments include calcium, vitamin D, weight-bearing exercise, prevention of falls, and bone-friendly medicines. Physical ConditioningQualified exercise therapists and medical staff supervise a customized exercise program using advanced EKG monitoring. Physical TherapyPhysical therapy involves the evaluation and treatment of problems associated with mobility, balance, coordination and musculoskeletal pain. Pulmonary Conditions TreatmentTreatments for disorders of the lungs and airways. Conditions may include asthma, cystic fibrosis, pneumonia, bronchitis, emphysema or cancer. Pulmonary Conditions TreatmentTreatments for disorders of the lungs and airways. Conditions may include asthma, cystic fibrosis, pneumonia, bronchitis, emphysema or cancer. Urinary Incontinence TreatmentLoss of bladder control is not a disease. Rather, it is a sign that a problem may exist. Regular leakage of urine can occur with certain movements, during pregnancy or times of stress. When leakage of urine becomes frequent or severe enough to become a social or hygienic problem, it is called urinary incontinence. Leakage of urine that cannot be controlled should prompt the patient to see a doctor. Proper diagnosis and treatment may correct the problem and ease the symptoms of urinary incontinence.
