Clemmons, NC - The Village of Clemmons Town Council unanimously passed a resolution of support for Medical Park Hospital Clemmons at its Monday, September 24 Council Meeting. The resolution expressed support for Medical Park Hospitals application with the State of North Carolina to build a new 50-bed hospital to serve residents of the Clemmons area, western Forsyth and Davie Counties.
"We believe this proposed facility will be a significant asset for our community because it will enhance the public health and welfare and improve the quality of life for our communitys residents," says Mayor Ed Brewer.
RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT TO SITE MEDICAL PARK HOSPITAL CLEMMONS IN THE VILLAGE OF CLEMMONS
WHEREAS, the Village of Clemmons and surrounding community is among the fastest growing areas in the Triad; and
WHEREAS, this area has been recognized as one of the most desirable retirement locations in the country and continues to attract large numbers of retirees who benefit from easy and convenient access to hospital care; and
WHEREAS, Forsyth Medical Center, Medical Park Hospital and Novant Health are the substantial providers of medical care in the Clemmons area with two physician practices within our municipal limits and two additional practices nearby in Lewisville and Davie County; and
WHEREAS, a hospital located in the Village of Clemmons is well suited to serve the nearly 73% of patients from Forsyth Medical Center, Medical Park Hospital and affiliates, who are from the Clemmons area and who choose them for their care; and
WHEREAS, Medical Park Hospital is proposing to build a new 50 bed community hospital with inpatient and ICU beds, operating rooms, an emergency department and diagnostic services to provide easier and more convenient access to care; and
WHEREAS, having a hospital in our community can significantly enhance the public health and welfare, and improve the quality of life for our communitys residents;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Clemmons Village Council unanimously supports efforts to bring the proposed Medical Park Hospital Clemmons to our community and urges the North Carolina Division of Health Services Regulation to approve this facility in our community.
