Winston-Salem, N.C. – Kirsten Royster, the senior director of support services at Forsyth Medical Center (FMC), has been named the new vice president of the Forsyth Cardiac & Vascular Center.
Royster, who joined FMC in 2005 as the director of patient access, brings a wealth of experience to her new position. She has played a key role in the development and implementation of a new patient care model for FMC and led efforts to transform the hospital’s revenue cycle. Royster also spearheaded the redesign of patient registration and appointment scheduling, a process that greatly enhanced the experience of patients and physician practices.
“Our cardiac and vascular program is among the best in the nation and nationally recognized for patient outcomes,” says Paul Hammes, Forsyth Medical Center senior vice president and chief operating officer. “Kirsten’s background in patient care and project management will help make this already outstanding program even more remarkable.”
Prior to joining FMC, Royster spent seven years as a consultant in the areas of revenue cycle, work flow and patient satisfaction.
Royster holds a master’s of public health in health policy and administration from Emory University and a bachelor of science in healthcare policy and administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is also a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and a 2007 graduate of Leadership Novant.
