Winston-Salem, NC - Forsyth Medical Center (FMC) announced today that Bruce Walley,MD, has been named senior vice president of medical staff services for the greater Winston-Salem market. A board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon with more than 30 years of experience, he has been a partner in Forsyth Cardiac and Vascular Surgeons since 1982. He will be leaving that practice to assume his new role at FMC.
Dr. Walley received his medical degree from Bowman Gray School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency program at NC Baptist Hospital and a cardiothoracic fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia.
As an active member of the FMC staff, Dr. Walley has served in several leadership roles including president of the FMC medical/dental staff. Dr. Walley will succeed Elms Allen, MD, current senior vice president for medical staff services who will be retiring.
