Treatment Methods
There are two main categories of treatment for cancer patients, either local or systemic. Local treatments, such as surgery and radiation therapies, are used to remove, destroy or control the cancer cells in a specific area. To destroy or control cancer cells throughout the body, oncologists use systemic treatments such as chemotherapy and hormonal therapy.
Forsyth's approach to cancer treatment not only combines traditional therapies such as surgery, radiation and chemotherapy, but we also recognize the importance of newer treatments such as biological therapy and intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT).
