Biological Therapy

Also known as immunotherapy or biotherapy, this treatment can also be used in conjunction with the traditional approaches of surgery, radiation and chemotherapy.

The therapy consists of treating the immune system with substances that help it work better. The immune system can recognize and differentiate between normal cells and cancer cells. Biological therapies enhance the production of antibodies, which attack the cancer cells and bind with them to damage or destroy them.
