Colorectal screening tests are often performed before any symptoms appear. If detected early enough, colorectal cancer can be effectively treated in its early stages.

Fecal Occult Blood Test (FOBT)

A Fecal Occult Blood Test (FOBT) is used to detect hidden (occult) traces of blood in the stool.

Colonoscopy

During a colonoscopy, the entire colon is examined for polyps or abnormalities. If a polyp is found, the physician is able to remove it during the procedure.

Double-contrast barium enema (DCBE)

Using a substance to open up the colon, the double-contrast barium enema allows x-ray images to be taken.
