Open to the public and professional community, the Derrick L. Davis Forsyth Regional Cancer Center offers its own resource library. Current literature and audio-visual materials are available on a wide variety of breast issues, including the latest breast cancer care. The library also offers information and resources to help women, their families and friends cope with breast cancer.

In addition, the Derrick L. Davis Forsyth Regional Cancer Center received Breast Center Accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers, a program of the American College of Surgeons. This prestigious award reflects our commitment for outstanding breast cancer care and is given to centers who demonstrate clinical excellence.

Mulitdisciplinary Breast Conference

For people newly diagnosed with breast cancer, we offer a weekly breast conference where cases are reviewed by a team of specialists to develop the best treatment plan for individual patients. At the conference, radiology films (mammograms, ultrasounds) are reviewed as well as the pathology of biopsies and surgical procedures the patient has undergone. Specialists discuss whether further surgery is needed and whether the patient would benefit from radiation therapy, chemotherapy or hormonal therapy. Eligibility for possible clinical trials is reviewed so that all appropriate treatment options may be presented to the patient.
