The Forsyth Stroke & Neurovascular Center Approach to Patient Care
Nationally Certified Stroke Center
Forsyth Medical Center was the first medical center in the Carolinas to receive Primary Stroke Care Certification from the Joint Commission. This designation is awarded to healthcare facilities that have demonstrated excellence in healthcare quality and have met the rigorous national standards and performance measurements for stroke care established by the Joint Commission and the American Stroke Association.
Multidisciplinary Approach
The goal of the Forsyth Stroke and Neurosciences Center is to reduce disability and death from stroke and promote patient recoveries from brain aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), brain tumors and other neurovascular conditions of the brain and spinal cord. This goal is accomplished using multidisciplinary medical evaluation techniques and individualized treatment plans.
State-of-the-Art Technology
The center's state-of-the-art diagnosis and monitoring equipment plays a vital role. Noninvasive diagnosis, angiography, endovascular treatment, angioplasty and stenting are tools that not only give the center a competitive edge, but result in better patient care. Our dedication to advanced medicine provides improved treatment planning prior to surgery, fewer intraprocedural complications, greater patient safety and improved overall results.
Our Expert Team
The sophisticated tools available are complemented by the unique, highly specialized skills of our team. Our physicians are particularly skillful in dealing with complex cases and working together with a variety of disciplines to maximize each patient's recovery. This collaborative approach draws on the experience of vascular neurologists, vascular neurosurgeons, emergency medicine professionals, interventional neuroradiologists and rehabilitation specialists.
Innovation & Clinical Trials
To maintain a reputation of leadership in the development of new and improved techniques for patient care, our physicians routinely conduct clinical trials. These trials are designed to pioneer and refine new diagnostic methods and interventional treatments, helping to determine their safety and effectiveness. With a vigilant focus on improving the way we deliver care, Forsyth Stroke and Neurosciences Center can remain at the forefront of stroke and neurovascular innovation.
