The affect of stroke on patients and their loved ones can be traumatic. In addition to physical recovery, survivors may need emotional or social support to understand and cope with stroke-related changes and connect with others in a warm, inspiring atmosphere.
By meeting regularly, support group members help one another confront and overcome common challenges by sharing experiences and encouraging one another. Forsyth's stroke support group allows stroke survivors and their caregivers to:
Make friends and socialize
Gain realistic feedback
Learn about community resources
