There's a special place just for you and your baby. We're here to support you and help you have a fulfilling breastfeeding experience. We offer the most comprehensive lactation center around, featuring exceptional services, supplies and equipment for nursing mothers.
We understand that learning to breastfeed takes time, practice and patience. At the Nursing Mother's Center, you will receive individual attention in a comfortable, home-like atmosphere. Our Lactation Consultants have advanced training in breastfeeding management and are certified by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners. At the Hospital
During your stay at Forsyth Medical Center, your nurse will assist you with breastfeeding and answer individual questions. You may also request visits from our Lactation Consultants if you have problems or unresolved questions. If you have questions after you go home, our Lactation Consultants are available by phone or by appointment.
At the time of discharge, your nurse will give you a coupon for a 15 minute weight check with a lactation consultant. Call the Nursing Mother's Center at 336-718-5636 to schedule your free 15 minute weight check.
At the Nursing Mother's Center
Our Lactation Consultants are available to you for personalized support and consultation after you leave the hospital. We offer breastfeeding classes for new mothers and expectant mothers. Call Health Connections at 336-718-7000 for class schedules and registration. Our professionals will also assist you in choosing the right supplies for you and your baby. Visit our center or call for information on available equipment and supplies. We will make your breastfeeding experience one of the most enjoyable and deeply satisfying times of your life.
Nursing Matter's
A discussion and support group for breastfeeding moms led by International Board Certified Lactation Consultants. It is a great way for you to talk to other breastfeeding moms or just to get out and meet new moms. The group meets the first and third Thursday of each month from 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. in Community Room #2 in the North Tower at Forsyth Medical Center. The group is free and babies are welcome. Lactation Consultants
The Sara Lee Center for Women's Health offers comprehensive lactation assistance while you and your baby are hospitalized. In addition, certified lactation consultation services are available after you and your baby have been discharged.
