Stereotactically Guided Breast Biopsy

This procedure involves computer technology, including x-rays from multiple angles and a special biopsy needle.

The Breast Clinic offers the latest in breast technology, including the stereotactically guided breast biopsy. The stereotactically guided breast biopsy uses computer technology that enables doctors to locate and obtain a sample of the precise center of the area in question. The procedure uses x-rays taken from multiple anglescalled stereo x-rays and a special biopsy needle. This technique is rapidly replacing the more traditional method of surgical biopsy, which requires an incision and removal of tissue.
